The Hochheim Art Collection
Picasso, Klee, Kandinsky, Kollwitz und Kokoschka these are just some of the illustrious artists, whose creations are on display at the Hochheim Art Collection. The collection covers classic modernist paintings, graphic art and sculptures as well as contemporary objects and installations a remarkable and presumable unique gem of which the town of Hochheim is justly proud.
The basement of the historical Burgeff-Villa
houses the private collection belonging to the married couple Liane and Hermann Rosteck from Wiesbaden. Their passion for collecting art began in the 1960s, kindled by personal contacts to artists such as Miró and Tàpies. Today this collection comprises about 400 pieces of art.
Four Andalusian Principles
is the title of this monumental sculpture by Fluxus artist Wolf Vostell. Created in luscious reds, this work is a testimonial to his love of Spain and symbolises the four Spanish virtues: a love for bulls, horses, women and wine.
And now we have come full circle the wine, which is also the symbol of Hochheim.
